  • Red and blue paste food coloring
  • Water, vegetable oil, whole eggs, and egg whites as specified
  • Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Red, white, and blue star-shaped candy sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark pans). Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans with cooking spray and parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the red layers by mixing one box of cake mix with water, vegetable oil, and whole eggs. Add red food coloring and bake.
  3. For the blue and white layers, mix another box of cake mix using water, vegetable oil, and egg whites. Divide into two pans; add blue food coloring to one batter.
  4. Once baked and cooled, trim the tops to level them. Assemble layers starting with red, followed by white frosting between each layer.
  5. Decorate with frosting and sprinkles as desired.
