  • 1 cup warm water or milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer with a dough hook, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water or milk, honey, and butter; knead for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  2. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes to an hour.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick; spread with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
  5. Fold and cut the dough into strips, twist each strip into knots, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Mix remaining melted butter with cinnamon and brown sugar; spoon over each knot.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden.
