  • 3 boxes refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts each)
  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 ounces)
  • 2 large eggs (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Coarse sanding sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and thaw the pie crust according to package instructions.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out a pie crust to about ¼” thick and cut out tree shapes using a cookie cutter.
  4. Place the shapes on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon cherry filling into the center of each shape and brush around it with egg wash.
  5. Cover each filled shape with another tree cutout, sealing edges with a fork and cutting slits in the top for venting.
  6. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sanding sugar if desired.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
