  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 14 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream or full-fat coconut milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • Fresh cilantro
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon ghee or butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, chili powder, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Place marinated chicken in the slow cooker along with chopped onions, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, and butter; stir gently to combine.
