Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine jasmine rice and beef broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season sliced flank steak with salt and black pepper; sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant (about 30 seconds). Add honey and soy sauce; simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Return seared steak to the skillet, coat with sauce, and heat through for another minute.
  5. Fluff the cooked rice on serving plates, top with steak and drizzle with sauce. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
