  • 1 cup jasmine or basmati rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup Monterey Jack cheese
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • 1 jalapeño (sliced)
  • 1 tbsp sour cream
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

Instructions

  1. 1. Cook the rice by boiling beef broth, butter, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a saucepan. Stir in rice and simmer for 15–18 minutes.
  2. 2. Season steak strips with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cumin.
  3. 3. Sear the steak in olive oil over medium-high heat for about 3–4 minutes on each side.
  4. 4. Prepare the queso sauce by warming heavy cream and melting in cream cheese before adding shredded cheeses gradually.
  5. 5. Assemble bowls by layering cooked rice and steak strips, then drizzling with queso sauce.
  6. 6. Garnish with desired toppings before serving.
