  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 15 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 8 lasagna noodles
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup ricotta cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground meat over medium heat; drain excess grease.
  2. Transfer the cooked meat to the slow cooker and add diced onion, minced garlic, broth, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, and seasonings. Mix well.
  3. Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or High for 3–4 hours.
  4. Stir in broken lasagna noodles during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Once done, mix in balsamic vinegar and grated parmesan; season to taste.
  6. Serve hot with mozzarella, ricotta cheese, and fresh parsley.
