  • Vegetable oil
  • Whole eggs and egg whites
  • Red paste food color
  • Blue paste food color
  • Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Red, white, and blue star-shaped candy sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark pans). Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans with cooking spray and parchment paper.
  2. Make the red cake layer using one box of cake mix; add red food color. Pour batter evenly into pans and bake for 28-33 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
  3. Repeat for the blue layer using the second box; add blue food color.
  4. Trim cooled layers for even stacking. Assemble by alternating red, white, and blue layers with frosting in between.
