  • 16 oz cream cheese (for both layers)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar (for both layers)
  • ¼ cup sour cream (for both layers)
  • 4 large eggs (2 for each layer)
  • 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract (for each layer)
  • Toppings: heavy cream, semi-sweet chocolate chips, whipped cream, Oreo crumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and line a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Mix Oreo crumbs and melted butter; press into the pan and bake for 8-10 minutes. Cool completely.
  3. For the red velvet layer, beat cream cheese and sugar; add sour cream, eggs, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and food coloring. Pour over cooled crust.
  4. For the vanilla layer, mix cream cheese and sugar; add sour cream, eggs, and vanilla extract. Pour over the red velvet layer.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until edges are set but center is slightly jiggly. Turn off oven and let cool inside with door ajar for an hour.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least six hours or overnight before serving.
  7. Prepare chocolate ganache by heating heavy cream and mixing it with chocolate chips until smooth; pour over chilled cheesecake.
