  • 1216 oz fresh green beans (trimmed)
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 ½ tsp granulated sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Trim the green beans and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sugar or honey, and cornstarch until smooth.
  3. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the green beans and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly tender but still crisp.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture and water over the beans; stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving hot.
