Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 oranges (zested and juiced)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the orange zest.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, remaining orange juice, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the yogurt mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 45–55 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. While baking, prepare syrup by dissolving remaining sugar in remaining orange juice over low heat.
  7. Allow bread to cool in pans for ten minutes before transferring to wire racks; drizzle syrup over warm bread.
