Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz. mushrooms (button or baby bella)
  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ cups beef broth
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Soy sauce
  • Onion powder
  • Mustard powder
  • Dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Clean and slice the mushrooms. Pat chicken breasts dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté mushrooms for about 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stir well, then gradually add beef broth while mixing to avoid lumps.
  5. Add soy sauce, onion powder, mustard powder, thyme, white wine, garlic, and bouillon cube; bring to simmer.
  6. Thicken the sauce with cornstarch slurry; return seared chicken to pan and simmer for another 10-15 minutes.
  7. Stir in heavy cream just before serving.
