  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, then whisk in flour for about one minute until golden.
  3. Gradually add milk and cream, whisking until smooth and thickened (about 3–4 minutes).
  4. Stir in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and seasonings.
  5. Remove from heat and fold in ¾ cup of shredded cheese until melted.
  6. Gently mix in crab meat, avoiding breaking up large lumps.
  7. Pour into a greased baking dish and spread evenly.
  8. Mix remaining cheese with breadcrumbs and sprinkle over the top.
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
