  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 oz smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add sliced sausage and sauté until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the shrimp and dried herbs; cook until shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Return the drained pasta to the skillet, add remaining butter, Parmesan cheese, and gradually mix in reserved pasta water until desired creaminess is reached.
  6. Serve immediately with extra melted butter drizzled on top if desired.
