  • 125g butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 750g quark
  • 100ml milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 130g sugar (for filling)
  • 2 cups sour cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Mix flour, butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and egg in a stand mixer until combined. Chill for 30 minutes.
  3. Drain the cherries and quark. In a bowl, mix quark, milk, egg yolks, melted butter, vanilla pudding powder, and sugar until smooth.
  4. Whip egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks form; fold gently into the quark mixture.
  5. Press two-thirds of the pastry into the pan's bottom; create a rim with the remaining dough. Pour in the quark mixture and top with cherries.
  6. Bake for 60-70 minutes or until golden brown and set.
