  • 10 napa cabbage leaves
  • 1/2 lb ground chicken or pork
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped scallions
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (divided)
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin or rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the napa cabbage leaves in a large pot for about 2 minutes until softened. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground meat, mushrooms, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Lay one cabbage leaf flat, add a spoonful of filling near the base, fold the sides over the filling, and roll tightly.
  4. Steam the wrapped rolls in a steamer basket for about 10–12 minutes until cooked through.
  5. For the sauce, simmer remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, mirin/rice vinegar, sugar in a saucepan. Stir in cornstarch slurry until thickened.
  6. Serve rolls drizzled with sauce and garnish with chopped scallions.
