  • 2 cups thinly sliced cabbage
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce (or vegetarian stir fry sauce)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 minced garlic cloves

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix all sauce ingredients together and set aside.
  2. Bring a large pan of water to boil and blanch the chow mein noodles for 20-30 seconds until loosened.
  3. Strain the noodles in a colander, avoiding rinsing to retain flavor.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan; stir-fry onions, cabbage, and celery for about 1 minute until softened.
  5. Push veggies aside in the pan, add remaining oil, noodles, and prepared sauce to the empty space.
  6. Toss everything together until the noodles are thoroughly coated in the sauce; remove from heat.
