  • 4 whole wheat pita breads
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Juice of 2 lemons (about 1/4 cup)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken by mixing olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add the chicken breasts and let soak for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Grill the chicken for about 6-7 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Let rest before slicing.
  4. While resting, prepare toppings by slicing fresh vegetables.
  5. For the tzatziki sauce, mix Greek yogurt with minced garlic and lemon juice; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Warm pita bread on the grill or skillet for about a minute per side. Assemble gyros by filling each pita with sliced chicken, fresh veggies, and tzatziki sauce.
