  • 27 oz boneless skinless chicken breast
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 8 cups vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 0.2 oz ginger
  • 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 Tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and toss with cornstarch, soy sauce, egg white, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan to about 350°F (175°C).
  3. Fry chicken pieces until golden brown and cooked through; drain on paper towels.
  4. Whisk together orange juice, zest, soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  5. Cook orange sauce in a separate pan until thickened; add fried chicken and toss to coat.
  6. Serve hot over rice or alongside steamed vegetables.
