  • 15 tbsp salted butter
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups + 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Spices: cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, allspice
  • For the caramel sauce: granulated sugar, heavy cream, flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Reduce apple cider in a small saucepan until it measures about 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp; cool completely.
  2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and sugars until light; add eggs, vanilla, and cooled cider.
  3. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until dough forms; chill for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Scoop dough into balls and chill for 4 hours or freeze for later use.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F; roll chilled dough in spice-sugar mix and bake for 11-13 minutes.
  6. Brush cooled cookies with a mixture of apple butter and reduced cider before dipping in spice-sugar mix.
