  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • 10 tbsp salted butter (cold)
  • 1 lb peaches (cut into chunks)
  • ⅓ cup dark brown sugar (for filling)
  • 2 tbsp brown butter (for icing)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (sifted; 115g)
  • 2 tbsp whole milk (plus more if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt cold butter over medium heat until golden brown. Let cool.
  3. Combine flour, dark brown sugar, and baking powder in a bowl. Mix in cooled brown butter until crumbly and press into a greased 9-inch tart pan. Chill.
  4. In another bowl, mix peaches, brown sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, cornstarch, and brown butter until well combined.
  5. Pour the peach mixture into the chilled crust and bake for about 35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. While baking, whisk together ingredients for icing until smooth.
  7. Allow the tart to cool completely before drizzling with icing and serving.
