  • 5 cups sliced Granny Smith apples
  • 2 Tbsp orange juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold salted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9" pie plate with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Peel and core the apples, then slice them into 1/2" thick pieces. Toss slices with orange juice and evenly spread them in the prepared pie plate.
  3. In a food processor, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Add cold butter cubes and pulse until crumbly and mixed.
  4. Spread the topping over the apples evenly and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
