  • 1 15-oz. can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 15-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 15-oz. can diced tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Heat a large stockpot over medium-high heat.
  2. Sauté 1 lb ground beef with 1/2 finely diced onion and 1 tablespoon minced garlic until browned (7–10 minutes).
  3. Add 1 can each of pinto beans, kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and 3 tablespoons tomato paste; stir to combine.
  4. Mix in spices (3 tablespoons chili powder, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 2 teaspoons ground cumin) and 1 cup beef broth.
  5. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve hot with toppings like shredded cheese or Fritos.
