Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 sausages (your choice)
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 large onion (thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mashed potatoes: Boil water in a large pot. Peel and quarter the russet potatoes, adding them to the pot. Cook until soft (15-20 minutes). Drain, then add milk and butter; mash until smooth.
  2. Cook the sausages: In a frying pan over medium-high heat, melt ½ tablespoon butter with olive oil. Add ½ cup beef broth and place sausages in the pan. Brown them on both sides until fully cooked (about 7 minutes).
  3. Make the onion gravy: In the same pan, add more butter and sliced onions; sauté until fragrant (about 5 minutes). Stir in flour, gradually adding leftover broth while stirring until thickened on low heat. Return sausages to the pan for an additional two minutes before serving.
