Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 2 medium apples (peeled and diced)
  • 3 Tablespoons light brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2 eggs (room temperature)
  • Ground cinnamon and nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan by greasing it and lining with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, mix the crisp topping ingredients until crumbly. Set aside.
  3. Combine diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl; toss to coat.
  4. For the batter, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in one bowl. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients alternately with milk into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. To prepare the cream cheese filling, beat cream cheese until smooth; incorporate sugar, flour, vanilla, and egg until creamy.
  7. Layer half of the batter in the prepared pan, followed by half of the apple filling and then the cream cheese filling. Top with remaining batter, apple filling, and finally the crisp mixture.
  8. Bake for 60–70 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
